About the Artist

Shahd Elwardany is an Egyptian visual artist whose work exists between reality and imagination—where the ordinary is reimagined into something quietly surreal. She began painting at the age of five, driven by an early fascination with transforming familiar moments into something more emotionally charged and visually unexpected. This instinct continues to shape her practice today.

After studying visual arts, Elwardany developed a distinctive style defined by bold, pop-infused color palettes and narrative-driven compositions. Her work captures fleeting pauses in everyday life, reconstructing them into scenes that feel both recognizable and slightly out of place. Through this tension, she explores themes of identity, perception, and the subtle strangeness within the familiar.

Her paintings are not meant to be overanalyzed, but experienced. They invite viewers into a space of curiosity—where meaning unfolds intuitively, and imagination is given room to expand beyond what is immediately visible.

Elwardany has exhibited internationally with galleries including Boomer Gallery in London, MENA Art Gallery in Berlin, The Holy Art in Athens, as well as exhibitions in Helsinki and Egypt. Most notably, she exhibited at the Carrousel du Louvre Exhibition in Paris with Artio Art Gallery.
